Thomas G. Voekler
Tom’s practice focuses primarily on corporate finance, public and private securities offerings, private equity and corporate governance issues, with a particular focus on real estate investment trusts (REITs), 1031 syndications (DSTs/TICs) and private placements of real estate investments.
Tom has represented leading regional, national and international investment banking firms in initial and follow-on public offerings and private placements for REITs. He has counseled numerous sponsors on REIT, DST, TIC and private equity syndications. In addition, Tom has advised companies in going private transactions and public and private companies and non-profits with respect to corporate governance as well as securities law reporting compliance and other general corporate matters.
As the firm’s co-founder and co-managing partner, Tom also sits on the Board of Directors and oversees the management of the firm’s daily operations and strategic plan. He is actively involved in REISA, IPA and IMN serving as Co-Chair of the REISA Conference Committee, Vice-Chair of REISA’s Legal and Regulatory Committee, and a frequent speaker and panel moderator. Previous to his affiliation to the firm, Tom practiced at two national law firms both of which were headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.
